Welcome The Next Vintage. We are Doug and Lacie, a husband and wife duo united by our shared passion for wine. With years of experience in the wine industry, we specialize in wine education, exploration, and tailored consulting services for small businesses. Both of us hold the Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level 3 (WSET 3) and Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW) certifications, ensuring a solid foundation in our craft.
Having successfully branded, scaled, and sold two specialty wine bars and shops, we know the ins and outs of the industry like the back of our hands—great at holding a glass, too! Our journey through the world of wine has inspired us to share our insights and help others thrive because, let’s face it, wine is always better when shared.
With the sale of our second business finalized, we took a bold leap into the winemaking and production side of things. This past July, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant world of Napa Valley, working alongside a producer in the Carneros region during the harvest. To say we learned a lot is an understatement; our hands were stained purple, a true testament to our hands-on experience.

In this publication, we’ll explore not just the intricacies of wine, but also our adventures in travel, uncovering hidden gems, the unique dynamics of working together as a couple, and navigating the joys and challenges of putting yourself out there and learning new things. Join us as we raise a glass to new experiences, insights, and, of course, great wine.
